Soil Investigations/Management On sites where there may have been historical dumping of asbestos contaminated fill it may be a requirement to undertake a subsurface investigation to determine the presence/extent of asbestos contaminated soil. If asbestos contaminated soil is identified it is required to be treated as Friable Asbestos under the WorkCover definition. Treatment may include: Removal Undertaken by or under the supervision of an AS1 licensed contractor. Encapsulation Capping the asbestos contaminated soil with a suitable encapsulation medium. This option may require an ongoing asbestos management plan to be prepared and implemented.
